Brokk Attachments You Can’t Live Without

Over the last 45 years, Brokk has curated a suite of attachments to help maximize robot utilization. Though the units automatically come paired with a breaker, Brokk offers 80+ additional attachments custom-fit to increase versatility, reduce manual labor, and improve safety and productivity. The full line of Brokk attachments expands the capabilities of the robots and the contractors who use them, creating new opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability.

Three long-time Brokk operators give their take on attachments and what they’ve learned in 30+ years in the business.

Operator: Bob McCabe

Experience: 37 years operating Brokk robots, currently Brokk’s regional sales and applications manager in the Northeastern U.S.

Favorite Attachment: Concrete Crusher

“The concrete crusher can be used in so many different applications where you cannot use the breaker or other attachments. It gives you a whole other performance dimension allowing you to not just break concrete, but actually crush it,” he said.

Bob uses a Brokk robot paired with a concrete crusher when noise is a concern due to occupied adjacent buildings. The crusher efficiently chews up concrete into fragments, making it ideal for silent demolition. “There have been times where we were working on a jobsite with a concrete crusher while there was a connected business where they were working undisturbed because of how silent the crushers are.”

Bob also favors buckets. “Other than the crushers, a bucket is also a great tool to have in your toolbox,” he said. “The bucket allows you to grab debris and pull it to your elevation. It is a very underutilized attachment.”

Favorite Attachment: The attachment that fits the job

Favorite Attachment: Breaker

Matt’s attachment of choice is the hydraulic breaker because it offers the greatest precision. “The breaker offers pinpoint accuracy ideal for precision demolition.”

Different sized breakers are designed to offer optimal breaking force for all applications, from construction to metal processing. “I’ve seen a 10-foot breaker used in a running oven in the steel mills, and I’ve seen a breaker a fraction of the size be used on a construction site. There are breakers to fit any application.”
